CNA Career Outlook

The Growing Demand of CNA’s Remains Positive for Nurse Assistants

As the population ages, the demand to keep qualified assistants increases each year.  The job of a nursing assistant is not an easy one.  Many nursing homes and extended care care facilities face a continual challenge keeping qualified care-givers.  With budgetary cuts on the horizon combined with escalating medical costs, many facilities are often forced to pay nursing assistants on the lower end of the scale.  The salary of a CNA does not always reflect the daily challenges they must face. Quite frequently, staffs tend to experience high levels of frustration and call-offs due to the pressures of working in a care facility.

The problems are often compounded with a high turnover rate and low employee retention.  The end result means there is always a shortage of certified nurse assistants to take care of the extended needs of the patients which often results in plenty of job opportunities.
